My favourite recipe is paneer tikka

Paneer tikka is a popular Indian dish made with cubes of paneer (Indian cottage cheese) marinated in a mixture of yogurt and spices and then grilled or baked until charred and aromatic. It is typically served as a starter or appetizer.

Here is a simple recipe for paneer tikka:

Ingredients:

  • 250g paneer, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons gram flour (besan)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon oil (for brushing)

For garnish:

  • Chopped coriander leaves
  • Lemon wedges
  • Onion rings

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, add yogurt, gram flour, lemon juice, ginger paste, garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well to form a smooth paste.
  2. Add paneer cubes to the marinade and coat them evenly. Allow the paneer to marinate for at least 30 minutes, or refrigerate overnight for best results.
  3. Preheat the grill or oven to 200°C (400°F).
  4. Thread the marinated paneer cubes onto skewers.
  5. Place the skewers on the grill or greased baking tray. Brush with oil.
  6. Grill or bake for about 8-10 minutes, turning the skewers once halfway through, until the paneer has a golden-brown char on all sides.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with lemon wedges and onion rings.

Enjoy your homemade paneer tikka as a delicious appetizer or as a side dish with naan bread or rice.
